Local Outreach - Financial Support

Be Encouraged Inc serves the most vulnerable and marginalized people in our community. Our outreach program includes delivering hygiene, food, and above all, kindness to our unhoused neighbors with the goal of fostering hope through dignity and encouraging them towards stable housing.

We are a small non-profit. We operate on the generosity of individuals, friends, and families.

And still we are a mighty force of dignity on our streets, in tiny homes, and in other gaps between the streets and stable housing.

And still we are able to support much larger organizations with food and volunteers.

And still we see the impact of our work in the smiles, trust, and authentic connections with the people we serve.

And still we always feel blessed to do what we do.

And because we are a small organization with little bureaucracy, we are able to move items where they are needed the most in a timely manner.

Your donations will help offset the cost of our existing programs and give us the financial space to potentially expand.

Where words fail us at times, our actions are the best way to demonstrate the principles of the Gospel; forgiveness, grace, and mercy.

If we tried to measure our success without including the human connections we have made, we would be doing a disservice to the Gospel, to our donors, and to our volunteers.

The practical side of connection is that we don’t get to ignore the despair and pain associated with the circumstances of being unhoused. Connection doesn’t allow us to choose our experience. Connection says that we are there for it all, even the things that make us uncomfortable.

Our friends on the streets, without houses, are the most vulnerable humans living in our neighborhoods.

"Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.” Proverbs‬ ‭31‬:‭8‬-‭9‬

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 1 Peter 4:10

It's estimated by social service experts in the field and faith leaders (When Helping Hurts) that it requires over 200 touch points to change a life. That requires consistent work, with integrity, over time.

Your donations support meaningful touch points. And, they have an immediate impact on the street. Because we are a small organization with little bureaucracy, we are able to move items on to the streets (where they are needed the most) in a timely manner.
